6 Questions to Ask Before Signing EMA

April 12, 2018 ·

EMAs, or equipment maintenance agreements, offer a cost-effective way to budget and pay for drive-thru repairs. To get the biggest bang for your buck, ask the following questions before signing an EMA.

  1. Does the vendor repair any type of drive-thru parts, or is it the agreement limited to certain brands or models?

  1. Do they guarantee repair or replacement within one or two days?

  1. Do they use quality parts so that the repaired equipment meets original factory specifications?

  1. Does the agreement lock you into a one- or two-year commitment, or does it run on a month-to-month basis so you can cancel at any time?

  1. Does the agreement let you upgrade to a higher service level without charging an extra fee?

  1. Does the vendor back their work with a full warranty on all their parts and repairs?
